History of the Canelé:
The canelé is believed to originate in either the 15th or the 18th century from a monastery, in Bordeaux the religious nuns picked up the fallen grains of wheat from the broken bags, or in the boats floor. the port of Bordeaux was a busy commercial place, they made the canneles to feed the poor or sell them in the monastery
at the beginning of the 20th century, a Parisian chef decided to add vanilla and rum to the recipe.

Yummy

My first order from Zam, ordered varieties of their products… my daughter finished many of them before I was able to try them. Very tasty.

Much better than expected!

Very nice piece of enjoyment early in the morning with my coffee or later in the day as a snack. I usually add some raspberries and whipped cream.

Ah, the memories!

I enjoyed my very first Canelé in the old town section of Bordeaux in 1961. It was perfection and those wonderful memories were brought back to me as I tasted the excellent creation from Zam Artisan Chocolates. The outside was browned and crispy/ chewy while the inside was a perfect pudding cake consistency. Just lovely with a cup of tea or coffee. One is a treat and two make just the right dessert. As you take a bite, pull air into your mouth so that you truly experience the buttery aroma and flavor. I live in Austin and am glad to have this creative company as my neighbor.

Delicious

I keep ordering the teacakes because they are so good. It's between a butter cookie and pie crust filled with rich bittersweet chocolate.

I ordered the canelle for the first time, they are also very good.
